Test Your Emotional Fitness

Do not skip this!

We know that you are excited about what we have been building. We are too! But you must know, that these methods not only do something with your clients - but also with yourself!
Therefore, it is our responsibility to give you at least a very general idea if it is the right decision for you to learn how to use these methods with others at this point in time - or rather not.
Both the questions we ask and the result of this test is to be understood as general orientation and not as a validated psychological assessment!

Take the test

Please take this test - at least once - when you are intending to enroll in a training from the category "Care for Others":
  1. Answer all the questions below for yourself.
  2. Count the "No" answers that you are giving.
  3. See the result below...
  1. Can you close your eyes in a calm, safe environment without (usually) feeling uncomfortable, anxious, or getting distressing thoughts/images?

  2. Do you usually sleep well and only rarely have nightmares (~ 1 per month or less)?

  3. Do regularly have psychological supervision - either in your job or otherwise?

  4. Are you currently or were you in the past in psychotherapy?

  5. Have the highly distressing or traumatizing events in your life been processed with a therapist (counselor) specialized in trauma care? [Response "I am not aware of any such events." is counted as a "No" answer.]

  6. Can you listen to narratives of helplessness, suffering, experiences of violence (including sexual violence) without getting into strong emotions (intensity level >7 out of 10) and which remain for hours or even days or cause sudden images or emotions that are or could be related to own distressing/traumatizing experiences?

  7. Can you spontaneously name one or several of these: (a) a person/animal/"something" with which you had/have a special relationship including feeling accepted and/or feeling safe (or something similar, but profound and strong); (b) a place (real or imagined, from the past or present) where you feel/felt calm, in peace or safe?

Result

For all results applies: The scope of our recommendations is exclusively to answer the question if you probably have the necessary emotional fitness/stability to enroll in courses from our "Care for Others" section.

It is your sole responsibility if you start a course with us and you need to take into account that there might be additional resources (time, supervision, counseling, including the cost for these) you individually might want or need.
